  2. In Remembrance of Bill Haines, Jr.

In the wake of Bill's death, many have reached out to ask how they might be able to honor his life and legacy. We couldn't think of a more fitting way than a gift to Recovery Beyond. Bill served as the secretary on the board and was a founding board member of this transformative organization. We know that his memory and passions will live on through this remarkable organization.

  3. In Remembrance of Ann Nelson

Ann Nelson's sudden passing has touched so many in the hiking and climbing community, but her contribution on Washington Hikers and Climbers as an administrator and her accomplishments on the trails and mountaintops were only a small facet of the generous and fulfilling life she led. Beyond achieving accolades as a professor in theoretical physics and raising two children, and as a loving wife to David Kaplan, Ann steadfastly strived to promote inclusion for the disadvantaged and to enable opportunities for those who were marginalized, discriminated against, or suffered from mental illness or other afflictions.
