Nate’s Fundraiser Climb

Nate’s Fundraiser Climb

To recover from an addiction, it takes a community, a network, “a village”. Recovery Beyond is that “village”; a unique recovery program, offering long-term recovery through an outdoor team-driven community. Matthew Arthur, a 2017 participant shared “I went from having no relationships, to having so many people surrounding me that love me. If it wasn’t for this team and these leaders, I would have never grown physically and recovered to the point I am at today”. Keep this community going and growing, consider donating a gift of $50, $100, or $200 today!

I’m sure you have heard the expression, “it takes a village to raise a child”. Well, I think we could update that phrase to say …”it takes a village, to raise an adult”, am I right?

Have you ever felt alone, depressed, anxious, or stressed? Addicted or drawn to something unhealthy to cope with the stress of life? Or just unsure or stressed about a partner, a job, or where to live in this world?

I have. Life has these moments on’t they?

So, what helps…

I would argue the two most therapeutic, healthy and helpful support structures for us are:

1.) a positive-safe-nurturing-community

2.) an established life purpose and meaningful production.

For the better part of 2017, I experienced the terror of anxiety and depression. In total about an 11 month stint. I won’t dive into the details, but it was hell-ish on the inside. At a minimum, every morning I woke up with my stomach in knots and constant racing thoughts. I was stuck inside. So at month 11, what changed? Well I made some changes. I let some friends go, reestablished others, and added some new safe ones. I also reestablished some simple, foundational purpose and meaning in my life. And started down a new path. It turns out, that a slow downward spiral, can be reverse into a slow upward one. By the end of month 12, I felt hope, growing confidence, and new.

Recovery Beyond is a community built to establish long-term sobriety and health. It does this through a positive-nurturing community and team-based accomplishments. It literally has turned addiction, anxiety, depression and more, on it’s head over and over again. This combo has become our secret sauce. Belief in self, high accomplishment, renewed confidence, reframed boundaries, and healthy relationships, become the game-changing byproducts.

So how can you help and support?

I believe in the work we do, so I am climbing Mt. Rainier this May and raising financial support as a part of a fundraising climb.

If you believe in us and our work, and wish to see this continue, I want to ask you for your help today. We rely on financial support from individuals and corporations like yourself. Would you consider making a donation of $50, $100, $250 or more? If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected]
